Tom started working at Modern Communications part-time during his college years. In 2003, he joined us full-time as Project Manager and Systems Design Engineer. In 2021, Tom took the reigns as President, leading Modern Communications into the next era, and in 2023, Tom took an ownership stake. When Tom isn't at work, he enjoys water sports in the summer and hunting in the winter. Tom and his wife Sarah coach sports in all seasons and cheer on their three kids at soccer and volleyball games.

Cheryl manages our finances and human resources. From monthly payables and receivables to month-end financials, Cheryl makes sure we keep our company in solid fiscal order. Cheryl loves spending time with her family, having adventures, and anything outdoors. Cheryl enjoys helping our employees and is passionate about giving back to the community.

Bob has been with Modern Communications for over 34 years, having several different roles with the company. As a leader of the AV sales, design, and integration team, Bob focuses on providing solutions and supporting the needs of clients in the corporate, healthcare, and educational markets. He enjoys time spent with his family and is involved with his parish community. Bob participates in all types of athletic activities, including coaching and officiating youth sports.

David joined Modern Communications in 1995 to manage the Service Department. Since then, David has found his passion for and has transitioned to systems design with an emphasis on audio systems.

David spends his free time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. Other hobbies are cars, music, and volunteering at his church.

Jay joined Modern Communications in 2014 as part of the broadcast and digital solutions team. Jay specializes in media lifecycle management but comes from a background of all things photo/video-related. Essentially, he’s a nerd, and proud of it! When Jay isn’t working, you’ll usually find him spending time with his wife and two beautiful daughters OR riding and tinkering on one of his 10(!) vintage scooters.

With a strong background in business development and strategic planning, Jim focuses on expanding Modern Communications' market presence and building strong client relationships. Outside of work, he enjoys his semi-retirement by relaxing with his wife, kids, and grandkids, especially around the lake. Jim's dedication and diverse skills make him a key asset to the Modern Communications team.

Bob is the Senior Engineer and Installation Specialist at Modern Communications. An expert in the field since 1997, he is involved in on-site design and installation of A/V and broadcast systems. When he is not at work, Bob and his wife, Karen, enjoy being outdoors, walking and hiking local park trails, or working in the yard. They always seem to get involved with family or friends home projects. When they get away, Bob and Karen relax at their favorite inn by Table Rock Lake.

Steve specializes in full-service electrical contracting and fiber optics technologies. Some of the types of his electrical finishes are new construction, white box, tenant finish, modify, update, and repair work. Steve’s primary objectives are customer satisfaction with great attention to detail.

"My love of AV began early with a passion for audio and music production, which is what you will find me doing in most of my spare time. Homeschooled from K-12, I value creativity. When I'm not immersed in music, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my parents, 5 siblings, and 10 nieces and nephews."
