SSM Cardinal Glennon Cardiology - St. Louis

Conference Room

Modern Communications was tasked with a design-build for the newly constructed Cardiology Conference Room.  Due to ceiling height restraints, the design called for an 80” LED TV as the primary display as well as two side 46” displays.  The room is fully controlled via Crestron with AV distribution being done with the DMPS-300-C.  The client wanted to use an existing soft codec for video and audio conferencing so MCI integrated this system with Vaddio’s AV Bridge, Mic Trio IO and Zoom Shot Cameras.

Grace Union Church - St. Louis

This is a great example of Modern Communications working with an architecture firm in the design and installation of sound, video, and stage lighting.  The project was a renovation of  an old furniture store!

There are 5 areas of the church that we tied audio & video together, and left many options for future growth. The project included the following areas and scope of work:

  • Kids - audio, video, lighting

  • Youth – audio, video, lighting

  • Front foyer – audio, video

  • Family room – audio, video, lighting

  • Sanctuary – audio, video, lighting

The system was wired for future cameras in the sanctuary and video / audio feeds to all other areas of the church for special events and over flow viewing.

Sacred Heart Church

Multipurpose Room -

Valley Park

Sacred Heart asked Modern to replace the portable audio system they used for special Mass and events in their gym. The main request was "make it simply to use".  For the audio equipment we used TOA line-arrays speakers, TOA DSP-2000 and TOA Amps to cover the complete gym with no dead spots of audio, or any feed back, no matter where they walk around with the wireless mic's. The sound quality is amazing with lows that shake the room and vocals crystal clear. The design also includes the use of one remote power switch to turn on the complete system ready to use without connecting any mixing board or adjusting any controls. We also installed cabling and jacks for future growth of adding a video projector with video switching through out the gym.

  • Green Screen Station where visitors can take a bike ride thru the gardens or walk down a path without ever leaving the building.

Ursuline Academy - St. Louis

Sound System

Modern Communications was asked to change a 30 year old gymnasium sound system, which is still being used as a training gym, to a performing arts center sound system.

In phase one we installed 2 groups of line-arrays and subs (out of basketball range), a 24 channel mixing board and amps to power the speakers. The mixer can be connected to the audio rack from 4 different locations with one cat5 connector.

Ursuline was very surprised with the sound quality and cost of the installation. This is a great example of Modern Communications listening to our customers and giving them the most cost effect solution, fulfilling all of their needs, with growth options.
