Don Johnson
President

Thirty-nine years later, his vision lives on in Modern Communications - a leader in the distribution of audio and video systems throughout the Midwest. Bill Johnson
Vice President
Bill worked closely with his brother Don to open and build Modern Communications. His original focus was on the design and installation of broadcast and professional video systems. Today, he serves as the Vice President of Operations and manages all sales within the company.
Bob Benben
A/V Systems Design and Integration Specialist
Bob joined Modern Communications in 1989. He specializes in AV integration with an emphasis in the corporate and university based settings. His experience with classroom, board room and simulation lab design & integration, as well as custom designed preventative maintenance contracts for existing systems, has proven to be an important asset to Modern.
David Stephan
Service Manager / Broadcast Sales
Since 1995, David has worked as Modern Communications Service Manager. In addition to this role, he has become involved in Broadcast Design, Sales and A/V Integration. His positive and friendly attitude, coupled with his vast A/V knowledge, has proven beneficial to Modern and all of our customers.
Tom Johnson
CTS, DMC-D, EAVA A/V System Design and Integration Specialist / EAVA Certified / Outside Engineering Coordinator
Tom started working at Modern Communications on a part-time basis during his college years. In 2003, he joined us full-time. He takes your job from beginning to end - ideas, drawings and installation. Tom can help you create exactly what you need.
Converged Network Technology Specialist
We welcome back Christine after 4 1/2 years! Christine is an expert in Networking, as well as Support Programming. She now takes on a different role, but continues to work closely on Workflow and Digital solutions. Additionally, Christine provides a helping hand to our AV and Broadcast Integrations.
Bob Hetz
Audio and Video Engineer / Field Support Specialist
Bob is the Senior Engineer and Installation Specialist at Modern Communications. He is involved in on-site design and installation of A/V and broadcast systems. His extensive knowledge, paired with his meticulous installation standards, has proven him to be an expert in his field and a valuable resource to Modern since 1997.
Chris Stephan
Audio and Video Engineer / Field Support
Chris joined Modern Communications in 1998 as a Service Technician. He continues to keep our customer's audio and video equipment in top running condition while working in our full repair shop. On an as needed basis, he also assists in the field with installation, preventative maintenance or onsite service calls. Chris is the one to call when equipment failure shows its ugly face at your workplace.
Master Electrician / Project Manager
Steve specializes in full service electrical contracting and fiber optics technologies. Some of the types of his electrical finishes are new construction, white box, tenant finish, modify, update and repair work. Steve’s primary objectives are customer satisfaction with a great attention to detail.
Andrea Richardson
Office Administrator
Andrea is our newest member of Modern's Team! She is responsible for our daily accounting activities in addition to making life easier for our sales force, customers and vendors. Her friendly voice on the phone will help guide you to solving whatever question you may have.
