Louis H Kohler Auditorium -
SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital
Sixteen years ago, Modern Communications, Inc. installed A/V components for the Louis H Kohler Auditorium at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. Although the system continues to operate as intended, some of the components have changed over time. Working closely with design and construction teams, Modern upgraded the Auditorium's system to support presentation, audio reinforcement, recording and video conferencing. This new system provides "real world" usage of the space, fitting into all the architectural aspects and making it possible for anyone to walk in, connect and begin their presentation.
Extron DTP Crosspoint 84 Matrix Switcher provides complete system integration, while Crestron delivers a powerful touch screen control solution. The Auditorium also features TOA Audio, a Middle Atlantic Lectern and a Draper Projector Lift.

BOE Conference Center System
Modern Communications Inc. worked closely with the hospital to design, engineer and implement a new state of the art AV system in the newly built Conference Center. The heart of the divisible 3-Room system is designed around Extron’s DTP Crosspoint 84 IPCP MA70 in the main room with Extron IN1608 IPCP MA70’s in the 2 smaller rooms. Extron’s Touchlink Pro brings the AV capabilities of the rooms together with seamless control of the multiple processors for system control of projectors, switching, audio processors and lighting.
The system is designed for complete AV distribution and content sharing with full Video & Audio Conferencing using Skype for Business. This was accomplished by using Vaddio’s AV Bridge Conference paired with Vaddio’s RoboShot and ZoomShot cameras and Trio Mic ceiling microphones.

East Pavilion Auditorium
The AV project at BJC HealthCare’s East Pavilion Auditorium was awarded to Modern Communications. The project included new recessed projection screen and Christie LW720 projector along with full room control via Crestron DMPS-300-C with integration of existing Polycom VTC system. Vaddio Mic Trio’s were added for audio pickup of room attendees. Prior to this project, the client used the old Crestron system to control partial AV components, while utilizing an on staff tech to run the Polycom via remote control with audio capture via wireless microphones and a portable mixer. With the upgrade, all areas are completely controlled via the Crestron 10” touch screen located at the podium.
