Immanuel Lutheran Church,

St. Charles

In 2018, the ceiling collapsed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles destroying their A/V system.

Modern designed and built their new system which includes Renkus-Heinz steerable speakers with subs rear fill speakers, Roland digital mixer and digital snake.  The video camera system was upgraded to HD 3 PTZ with a new Roland video mixer.

St. Matthew United Methodist Church -  Belleville, IL

St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Belleville, Illinois decided to update their Control Room.  Modern helped them find the the right equipment for this project.  Upgrades include a Ross Carbonite Switcher, the Ross XPression CG and the Ross ULTRIX Router. The Church decided to install the new Sony HXC-FB80 Studio Cameras and Sony BRC-X1000PTZ Cameras.  Marshall miniature cameras were chosen for hard to reach places.  St. Matthew beautifully completed all installation themselves.

Grace Free Will Baptist Church - Arnold

Modern Communications was given the opportunity to design and install the video system for this traditional Church in Arnold.  Modern skillfully replaced the florescent lighting with theatrical lighting to properly light the choir and altar.  Monitors were placed in these areas, offering visibility for the whole congregation.

The Church requested the system to be less noticeable when not in use, so an electrical screen was installed with wood casing to match the ceiling.  A video switcher/scaler control system operates the projector, screen, monitors and the lighting control board for the new lighting system.  An essential key in this design was to meet the needs of the Church as it continues to grow.

First Baptist Church -

Jefferson City

The First Baptist Church of Jefferson City upgraded their Church to HD.  Modern Communications installed new Christie DLP projectors  and new 16x9 Screens.

A new Extron Switcher and Control System was installed in addition to upgrading their older analog cameras to HD with the Panasonic PTZ camera and Vaddio Control System.

Grace Union Church - St. Louis

This is a great example of Modern Communications working with an architecture firm in the design and installation of sound, video, and stage lighting.  The project was a renovation of  an old furniture store!

There are 5 areas of the church that we tied audio & video together, and left many options for future growth. The project included the following areas and scope of work:

  • Kids - audio, video, lighting

  • Youth – audio, video, lighting

  • Front foyer – audio, video

  • Family room – audio, video, lighting

  • Sanctuary – audio, video, lighting

The system was wired for future cameras in the sanctuary and video / audio feeds to all other areas of the church for special events and over flow viewing.

Sacred Heart Church

Multipurpose Room -

Valley Park

Sacred Heart asked Modern to replace the portable audio system they used for special Mass and events in their gym. The main request was "make it simply to use".  For the audio equipment we used TOA line-arrays speakers, TOA DSP-2000 and TOA Amps to cover the complete gym with no dead spots of audio, or any feed back, no matter where they walk around with the wireless mic's. The sound quality is amazing with lows that shake the room and vocals crystal clear. The design also includes the use of one remote power switch to turn on the complete system ready to use without connecting any mixing board or adjusting any controls. We also installed cabling and jacks for future growth of adding a video projector with video switching through out the gym.
