Attention Apple Users:
Avid will be announcing Tiger support very soon. Avid Xpress Pro v. 4.8 for Mac only and Media Composer Adrenaline v. 1.8 for Mac only are planned for August 31, 2005 release. Tiger support will include use of Tiger’s 64 bit architecture by Avid applications! These releases will not support HD, which is still planned for support in a release later this year. However, they will contain some unique benefits!
Avid Xpress Pro v. 4.8 Mac Only – will be a free update for registered users of Avid Xpress Pro v. 4.6 and will include the Marquee Title Tool.
Media Composer Adrenaline v. 1.8 Mac Only – will be a free update for customers with valid Avid Assurance contracts, or will be available for a fee.
Both Xpress Pro and MCA updates will include Noise Industry’s Factory Tools – a set of 85 customizable plug-ins that will show up in the effects palate. These new effects take advantage of Apple’s Quartz technology, unlike any other popular NLE on the market. Both will also include Mouse Scroll Wheel support, and users will be able to map commands to three of the five buttons on the new mice.
